We met Olive a couple years ago and have gotten to know her so much more through her regular practice at Yogatown. Olive has a smile that lights up the room and we are always happy to see her at the studio.
We asked Olive to answer a couple questions about her yoga journey:
Why did you start doing yoga?
Four years ago I started CrossFit and then I decided to add more stretches to my workout.
What’s a yoga accomplishment you’re most proud of?
At my age I’m so humbled knowing that I can move fluidly throughout a class and the movement that I’m most proud of is the supported handstand (Adho Mukha Virksasana).
It’s close to my gym and work. Almost 2 years ago I tried Yogatown and I’ve been hooked ever since. The atmosphere is extremely friendly with awesome staff and great instructors.
What does the word Townie mean to you?
Belonging to a community that share the same ideals, with yoga being wellness.
We believe that yoga is about so much more than being bendy. What does yoga mean to you and how has it changed since you started?
Before it was all about stretching, now is so much more than that. It means being refreshed, meditative and relaxed.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’m very happy that I made the decision to join Yogatown. Some might think yoga is only for a certain type of person but I truly believe it’s for everyone.
