Welcome to another edition of Townie Tuesday.
This week we’d like to introduce you to David! David has been a part of the Yogatown community since 2012 and has now done over 1,000 visits.
David really connects with the community at Yogatown with his great sense of humour and lighthearted demeanor.
He shared a little about his time at Yogatown with us:
Why did you start doing yoga?
I was drawn to yoga after spending many years in sports and especially martial arts. I was looking for an opportunity to discover myself and find some tranquility.
What’s the yoga accomplishment you’re most proud of?
That’s a trick question!!! Ha!! let’s say that I am constantly humbled and elated at each and every time I get on my mat.
From the beginning I concluded that Yogatown was an obvious choice. The quality of people, the openness, the laughter and the SWEAT!!! I always feel comfortable in the surroundings.
What does the word Townie mean to you?
It means a community of acceptance, patience and peace of mind that whenever I wish to practice I am always at home.
We believe that yoga is about so much more than being bendy. What does yoga mean to you and how has it changed since you started?
Oh man!! Well I was that competitive person that claimed not to be competitive!!
Through the last many years it has evolved into those rare states when I don’t even feel my mat my breath my thoughts…I just am and continue to let those times happen as they will.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Just this…I am so thankful and grateful that I practice in a place that is welcoming and committed to striving for the experience that we all hope to attain.
