Elie found Yogatown just a few months ago after a recommendation from a friend to give it a try. Since then he’s developed quite the regular practice and we now see him a few times a week! Elie has been to classes over 100 times in just a few short months and has even taken on our 30 day challenge.
We asked Elie to share a little bit about his yoga story:
Why did you start doing yoga?
I started doing yoga to fix my muscle imbalances accumulated through years of bad habits. Yoga fixed most of those problems, while increasing my flexibility and strength.
What’s a yoga accomplishment you’re most proud of?
That I can finish a yoga class without dying… but, I will only feel accomplished when I can complete one of Jen Pakuts’ classes without taking a break.
A friend of mine recommended Yogatown, and I have never looked back since. The staff, people, and the vibe at Yogatown are phenomenal. I have no interest in trying a different studio.
What does the word Townie mean to you?
A community that functions as a close family.
We believe that yoga is about so much more than being bendy. What does yoga mean to you? Has it changed since you started practicing?
I agree, yoga is an opportunity to look within oneself. Since I have added yoga to my routine, I have been grounded, more empathetic, and mindful of my thought patterns. It’s astonishing on how connecting ones breath to movement can improve day to day life.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I am grateful to the staff at Yogatown. They are all humble, welcoming, and make you feel at home. The awesome smell in the studio is a plus.
