"I think and think and think, I've thought myself out of happiness one million times, but never once into it." - Jonathan Safran Foer
My objective as a teacher is to cultivate an environment where students can feel supported and start to build a curiosity about their own movement. We can become quite disconnected from our bodies as we spend our days existing in our thoughts that really connecting to the physical container where we exist, can be a new adventure.
Once that connection has been created it is fun to try new things and explore different movements without putting weight on any specific outcome. I think of it as the way babies learn to walk, they fall over and over again but never see it as a failure. It’s all part of the process.
When I’m not at the studio I can often be found outside. I like to spend my days at the park with my son, walking the dog, or running/biking. I have recently gotten into triathlons so I’ve been enjoying the training and the challenge of trying something new!
