If you’ve ever taken one of Megan Beahen’s upbeat Flow Jam classes, then it will come as no surprise that she wanted to be a MuchMusic VJ growing up. Our resident mixtape-master is one of the liveliest ladies with some fierce moves. She takes dance classes regularly, works full-time in communications for the federal government, and guides some of the most vibrant classes on our schedule. Always moving, always smiling, always shining–get to know Megs with our debut Teacher Q/A series.
Funniest thing that happened to you in a yoga class?
I accidentally did a side twice while teaching Parliament Hill Yoga. When you have to tell hundreds of people you made a mistake and ask them to turn around, all you can do is laugh.
How do you start your day?
I prefer a slow morning before I head to the office – dog walk, coffee and meditate (if I’m being good 😄).
5 things you absolutely couldn’t live without?
My passport, coffee, carbs, Lululemon align yoga pants, and a hair dryer (bangs – they’re a lifestyle)
Something you’re really good at?
I missed my calling as a talk show host – I’m good at talking a little bit about most things.
What book are you reading right now?
Fiction – Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. Non-fiction/yoga – just re-read Be Here Now by Ram Dass.
Eating a bag of salty chips, while driving home after teaching a sweaty yoga class. I need the electrolytes!
