Breathe Life into Your Practice with Kathryn Anne Flynn & Michael Dynie
Take your yoga "off the mat"
Saturday April 27th & Sunday April 28th
with Kathryn Anne Flynn & Michael Dynie
Yoga teachers often discuss “yoga off the mat”, as it is our genuine hope that the benefits of posture practice diffuse into your daily life. But what are all the other aspects of this system? This weekend is for yogis and yoga teachers – those looking to learn and discuss the other limbs of the yoga practice.
The scope of yoga’s popularity is equaled by the general lack of knowledge regarding its history. We will look at many stories from yoga’s evolution to situate ourselves in history. We’ll reference a few yoga texts within that history, and discuss their applicability to modern dilemmas. We’ll discuss how philosophy and breath practice dialogue to assist us in living ethically and healthfully.
Our weekend will include…
- History and philosophy of yoga relevant to modern yogi
- Yoga practices that support our lecture time (i.e. get you moving!) and prepare us for pranayama
- Discuss various yoga philosophy concepts and how they can inspire living more peacefully in the world
- Anatomy of breath, seated breath practices, breathing techniques during yoga asana, and bandhas/breath retention techniques
Join devoted and super friendly yogis, Michael Dynie and Kathryn Anne Flynn, for a well-rounded weekend.
This weekend is suitable to practitioners and teachers alike, no prior teacher training experience is necessary. It does count as a module in the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program.
Date: Saturday April 27th & Sunday April 28th
